Every piece of land carries a story. Long before this sanctuary became a place for prayer, contemplation, and spiritual community, this land witnessed generations of human experience, connection, and spiritual transformation.
Before the Sanctuary
One of the most notable elements of this property's history comes from a former owner. Among the historical photographs preserved from that era is this image, which was taken on these very lands that today form part of our sanctuary.
Although many of the details of that history have been lost over time, these photographs remind us that this land has, for generations, been a place where people gathered, shared stories, and strengthened their bonds around the sacred fire.
The Land Before Development
For many years, this property remained a remote and undeveloped part of rural Florida, surrounded by pine forests, native vegetation, wildlife, and vast open skies.
Historical photographs from the 1960s, taken by the property's former owner, reveal a landscape very different from the one that exists today. Seasonal wetlands and largely untouched wilderness defined the character of these lands. The former owner would frequently arrive by jeep with his children, camping beneath the pines and enjoying a Florida that still retained much of its wild and natural beauty.
These images offer a glimpse into an earlier chapter of the property's history—a time when nature shaped every aspect of the experience and the rhythm of life moved at a slower pace.
Although much has changed over the decades, the quiet beauty, natural surroundings, and enduring spirit of this land have remained, forming the foundation of what would eventually become the sanctuary we know today.
The Beginning of a Vision
In 2015, a vision emerged: to create a place dedicated to spiritual growth, prayer, contemplation, community, and service to the Divine. What began as a dream slowly evolved through dedication, sacrifice, and countless hours of work.
Building the Sanctuary
Every structure was built with intention. Volunteers, members, friends, and family contributed their time, energy, talents, and financial support to help transform the land into the sanctuary and facilities that exist today.
The Community
The true heart of this sanctuary is not found in its buildings, but in the people who gather here. Over the years, men and women from many walks of life have walked these paths to participate in prayer, contemplation, spiritual fellowship, and service to others within our spiritual community.
Looking Toward the Future
We see ourselves not as owners of this land, but as temporary stewards. Our responsibility is to care for it, preserve it, and pass it forward so future generations may continue to find peace, reflection, and spiritual connection here.
